| HELP! SW:BF2 Tantive IV is killing me! [message #204474] |

I have had the worst time getting past the Tantive IV level in
Battlefront 2. What am I missing?!?! Is there some secret to this
level. I'm getting shredded and I'm almost ready to find the PC Cheat
Codes (which I never like to do) just to get past this.
Any help is most appreciated!
Greg

The empire does not look kindly on defeat. What part of it are you
having trouble with?

Thanks for replying...and yes, I know it doesn't...it keeps telling me
that over and over and over...
but anyway, I can get through the first objective fairly quickly and
become Darth Vadar. I can slash up the Tech Room pretty well, too.
After that, things start to go downhill. I can sometimes remain as
Darth Vadar and take out the generator. I usually lose Darth Vadar
after that. I struggle to get the plans and sometimes get back to the
Tech Room. By that time, though, there are no more reserves and I
simply cannot find Leia anywhere and I usually get shot up.
Unless there's a secret to all this, I can handle the simple, brute
force that it takes to get through all this, it's mainly that I usually
lose it all flailing around the ship looking for Leia.
I'd really like to go on and see what the rest of the game is like.
Thanks again for the reply.

First, make use of the time limit on deciding whether or not to be Darth
Vader. If you've still got a lot of health, try to make your way to the
tech room, and use grenades to destroy terminals. Once you become low on
health, say yes to being Darth Vader.

Don't slash. Throw the lightsaber. You can kill a handful of rebels in
one throw, and destroy a terminal in one throw. Because of that, you
should end up being Vader for a much longer time. Presumably until the
end of the level.

You don't need to destroy the generator. There are three doors to the
generator room. The one on the far right is locked. The one in the
middle will take you to the left side of the generator, on the lower
level. If you open the one on the far left, you'll see a ramp taking you
to the upper level of the generator room. As you make it up to the upper
level, it's a narrow space, so throwing your lightsaber is even more
affective, because the narrow space make the rebels line up in front of you.

I don't want to spoil that one for you. :-) If you're still having
trouble, just reply, and I'll tell you.

Don't bother trying to kill everyone. Especially in the first part.
Stand back from the door, as it is blown up, and there are going to be a
few grenades thrown after that. Then run straight to the first
objective, and kill any rebels in /that/ room.

It's harder.

Whew! Solon, by using your advice I was able to pass this level,
finally! Thanks so much! I was able to remain as Darth Vadar much
longer than I had been in recent tries. I had to spawn as a Storm
Trooper again before I was to find Leia, but by some struck of luck, I
ran into her.
AND, you are definitely right about the next levels simply being
harder. I barely got passed the Yavin space level even on the 4 time
(I like the space levels, though!)
I've looked in my booklet that came with the game, but if I understand
it correctly, the only time you can save the game is between
levels...right? In some FPS games, you can hit a shortcut key to do
quick saves. I haven't seen that in this. Am I not finding it or does
it really not exist?
Thanks for you help, again!

I don't know. I play it on XBox.
