This SW newsgroup is only racking over the events of 6 films, why don't
we turn our attention to what should be done next in the SW universe.
The original sith wars would be brilliant, with the coen brothers
directing it. What a film!

Coen brothers? WTF? Have you ever actually watched one of their films? You
want to do a dark comedy about the sith wars?

Personally, I'd like to see TV series along the lines of "Tales from the
Empire" or "Tales from Jabba's Palace". Just one-shot episodes or the
occassional two-parter that deals with the variety of characters in the SW
universe regardless of the era.

What are all those comics and novels for, if not to expand the mythos of
the SW universe and make Lucas even richer?

franklin cross, you are on record as saying that star wars is some
silly film from our youth, why do you prowl this group if that is the
case, also what is wrong with the coen brothers or the boys who did the
matrix, the Wachowski brothers. The coen brothers have never had a
script and money. They have always had a script. here is hoping the tv
series is good.

Hmmm - "Tales from Padme's bedroom"

Uh, no, I am actually one of the main opponents against that claim in this
newsgroup. I think the original films are brilliant, epic, poetic pieces of
art that transcend their genre and transcend age and time. I believe that
when Spielberg says those three movies were for children, he is lying and
trying to cover up for the backlash against the new movies (Jar Jar, etc).
Please produce this document where I'm "on record" saying star wars is a
silly film from our youth.
The coen brothers are just wrong for this type of movie. They are brilliant
(well their first four movies were brilliant anyway) at mood and pacing, and
the kings of turning death and violence into laughter. The Big Lebowski is
probably my favorite movie. I just don't see how their work connects to
starwars in any way. To say that they should direct star wars suggests you
don't know anything about their style, or star wars, or both.
A better choice would have been peter jackson or somebody like him who
actually can produce good sci fi. Actually george lucas' direction and
cinematography are actually pretty great, it is his writing that sucks with
these last three movies.
