I read an article in a german newspaper today, it was about getting a
good credit score in the USA, keeping and even improving it up to the
max (which is 850). And in the article a book was mentioned:
"Prologomena zu einer Metaphysik des Lautenspiels bei F. Zappa" (the
english title would be something like "Prologomena about the
metaphysics of the lute playing of F. Zappa"). Anybody heard of this
book? The article (in german only) is here:

Central Scrutinizer:
This is the CENTRAL SCRUTINIZER . . . it is my responsibility to enforce all
the laws that haven't been passed yet. It is also my responsibility to alert
each and every one of you to the potential consequences of various ordinary
everyday activities you might be performing which could eventually lead to
The Death Penalty (or affect your parent's credit rating). Our criminal
institutions are full of little creeps like you who do wrong things . . .
and many of them were driven to these crimes by a horrible force called

"Man beißt sich etwa in den „Prologomena zu einer Metaphysik des
Lautenspiels bei F. Zappa“ fest, liefert das überfällige Buch zu spät
bei der Bibliothek ab – und prompt landet der Vorgang inklusive der Höhe
der Strafe in den Computern der Auskunfteien."
My German is far from faultless, but I believe this title to be a
fictional example of an obscure book that you might become absorbed in
to the point that it is overdue when you return it to the library, which
could have the effect of queering your credit rating. The title,
Prologomena to a Metaphysics of Sound Play in F. Zappa or something to
that effect, seems meant to be faintly ridiculous.
