Spoiler for an element of the basic plot of
the last Ent episode.
Okay, so does anybody else find it strange that Riker and
Troi are going to feature in this? And from what I understand,
this is no cameo - around one third of the entire episode is
devoted to scenes of Riker and Troi.
Doesn't it seem like a massive slap in the face to to NX-01
crew - both the characters and the actors - to do that to them
in the very last episode?
TNG, DS9, Voyager, all finished with an episode that tried to
encapsulate the essence of the show - with TNG they had one
last Great Problem to solve, with DS9 they tied up the war,
fulfilled Sisko's destiny and showed the feeling of family
these people had for one another, with Voyager they showed
the ship make it back to Earth.
With Enterprise... we cut to two second-rank characters from
an entirely different crew and focus on *their* issues?
Showing the founding of the Federation is a great idea,
building the backdrop for that is what a lot of Enterprise
has been about and it's a fitting climax to the series. But
dumping Riker and Troi into it is unnecessary.
I know I've never been a fan of Enterprise, I know I've bashed
it more than once, but even the weakest child in the class
deserves the chance to do his own work the best he can. This
sends the message that Enterprise doesn't even deserve a
send-off of its own.
How can Berman and Braga not understand this, for a show they
created?

Leave it to Beavis & Butthead to screw it over even until the very end.
Frankly, I don't care what they do to it. So long as they never touch
another Star Trek series or movie EVER AGAIN.
