1/15 - PRE-EMPTED for the season premiere of "24" (two "King of the
Hill" repeats will air in the west at 7:00 and 7:30 Pacific)
1/22 - PRE-EMPTED for the NFC Championship football game, which starts
at 6:30 PM Eastern (local programming will air in the west
after the game)
1/29 - We're On the Road to D'ohwhere (HABF04)
Bart is going to fat camp (wait, wrong episode) to Catholic school
(no, that's not right either) to France (wrong again) to military
school (I'm getting closer) to a "behavior modification camp" after
yet another prank at school, and Homer loses out on a trip to Las
Vegas because he has to drive Bart there, but along the way, Peter
decides to start bonding with Stewie (come on, that isn't even the
right series) Homer decides to start bonding with Bart
STUFF for "Homer's Paternity Coot" (HABF03)

Written by Joel H. Cohen
Directed by Mike B. Anderson
Blackboard: I AM NOT SMARTER THAN THE PRESIDENT
Couch: A photographer takes a series of family portraits, from 2006
through 2013, when everybody is replaced by a robot
Special Guest Voice: Joe Frazier, William H. Macy, Michael York
Also Starring: Pamela Hayden, Tress MacNeille, Maggie Roswell,
Karl Wiedergott
Overseas Animation: Akom
TV rating: TV-PG-LV
REVIEW: B-minus - yawn, yet another "Homer has to be saved at the
last second" ending, along with "Guess what - the big change
didn't really happen and everything is back to normal, and
let's never speak of this new guy again except maybe as some
obscure reference years from now". At least they didn't go
with "it was Grampa who saved Homer".

GOOFS / FREEZE FRAME / WHATNOT
The 1960s mailman should not have been wearing a USPS logo, as the
USPS did not exist then.
Moe's animation in the jump rope scene appears to be jumpy.
When Homer replaced his tire on the way home with Mason, the tire has
no way of attaching itself to the car - it appears to be just the
rubber part of the tire.

Moe's jump rope animation is jumpy - I get it...

FYI, you might want to revise the writeup for this episode on SNPP; Bart
went to military school in 4F21.

Interesting... I didn't even think of it as a "Homer has to be saved..."
ending. But you have to admit, Grampa has some good deep-sea rescue skills
("...Hellfish")!

That would be downright nutty!

Jebediah Springfield IV, IIRC.

(Rim shot!) Oh good grief, it's not even 1 am and I'm getting silly. But I
can't stop laughing at the jump/jump thing!

And I'm still leaving what I said in there. It reminds me of the joke
"what's brown and sticky?"
A stick! Oh mercy.

I knew it was one of those season finales...

YRC - the "IV" was hidden by Grampa's arm most of the time. (Anybody
have any ideas on the remaining names on the list - a big screen HDTV
might help.)

"Well, a stick isn't necessarily sticky...and they're not all brown;
some are white, except for Redwood, which is 0-2 in league play
(inside joke...looks like it's going to be 27 straight seasons without
a boys' basketball league title) - er, except for Redwoods, which are
red..." (Taken from the end of an episode of "The Vicar of Dibley")

Fitting you should mention that show, and useful too, because it reminded me
of another thing I wanted to mention. I finally got my mother to watch the
Simpsons today (at least, a full episode), when I brought out "Who Shot Mr.
Burns?" She didn't figure it out, but enjoyed it nonetheless.
("Fitting" because The Vicar of Dibley is one of her favorite shows. And yet
my sister, who likes it too, didn't peg Dawn French as the voice of Mrs.
Beaver in the new Narnia movie - but now it's getting off-topic to the point
of a "six degrees" thing. Good night, everybody!)

Nature vs. Nurture. Homer was raised a Simpson, so may have learned to be
stupid, even without the gene. As for Bart, same thing applies.

Depends on what the police think is Simpson DNA. They've got far more
reason to have Homer DNA and Bart DNA on file than Grampa DNA, and so to
them that is what defines Simpson DNA.

That would be true if Lisa and Maggie were also stupid
