Take off your Kirk-colored glasses.

I'm not saying that torture is a bad thing if it saves lives. Just
don't deny that it happened because you look like a dreamy fool.

Kirk clearly asked Spock to mind fuck her. What do you think had in
mind when he called out Spock's name and then Spock mind melded with
her? Spock's a Vulcan, she won't talk. Did Kirk expect Spock to
defeat her with logic like you have just been? HA.

Since Kirk was THERE and SAW what Spock did, had he thought it was a
moral problem, you would agree that Kirk would have immediately
STOPPED IT. Kirk has never been a houseplant if he disagreed.

Since Kirk did not stop it, and interacted during the process, logic
naturally leads us to conclude that Kirk sanctioned it. Otherwise,
him being such a great guy, he would have stopped it. Eh?

I'd like to think those would help, but sadly they won't. As Laura just
admitted, fact and logic do not apply to her vision of debating Star Trek
(or anything else) She believes she is always right, and everyone else is
wrong and just "out to get her."

I used to fight with people. Now, I don't fight. Say what you like,
I'm not going to fight.

I would like for everybody everywhere to like what I say, and how I say
it. That's my wish. But I'm OK if there are people who don't like what
I say or how I say it. Let's face it: you can't please 'em all.

If people let nay-sayers and killjoys stop them, we'd have no progress
at all.

Seriously, IMHO, most people do. In my experience, it's a rare NG
person who concedes anything in the average usenet debate. I'm as
likely as anyone, and IMHO more likely than most, to apologize, to
adjust my opinion, or to concede a "debate" point.

It's not like usenet "debates" actually have rules, or anything.

I have gotten into the habit of simply stating my opinion and my reasons
for my opinion. I generally don't argue/fight anymore. What's the use?
Most of the people who regularly post here already have their minds
made up.

Not true. I actually disagree with her about the K/S thing and she knows
that. But we are friends and I support her right to her opinion, which is
why I usually defend her (mostly on the TOS group).

Absolutely. Episode after episode where K and S can't keep their hands
off each other. Episode after episode where they openly flirt. And even
in 1967 I noticed that in City On The Edge Of Forever they had two twin
beds, one of which was covered in Spock's tube and wire mnemonic memory
circuit--and the look of jealous pain on Spock's face when Kirk flirts
with Edith on the stairs.

Lots and lots of *canon* moments.

Well maybe in your case, not mine. I used to get along with her and had many
pleasant exchanges. I don't agree with her theories, they're fun and
entertaining but when she adamantly defends her position as being the ONLY
correct one based on HER selective interpretation of "the facts" to the
exclusion of all others, it becomes rather tiresome. She started with the
name calling and derogatory comments and has never apologized for her
actions. She says she want to debate but really she just wants to be the
centre of attention and act like a 6 year old prima donna, she will even
argue dictionary definitions and meanings of words.

Nonsense. That's completely untrue. All of it is untrue.

Yes, I have definite views and I advocate in favor of my own views.
Nobody (not even you) ever apologized to me for the harsh things they
said and did to me in usenet, and I don't expect them to.

Why let such things eat at you? Get over it.

~So what~ if Kweeg is pissed that I allegedly insulted him, and that I
allegedly failed to apologize to him for this heinous usenet act?
