Watched the prequel trilogy all in one go. [message #190554] Di, 27 Dezember 2005 05:43

Was going to watch all 6, but i started too late in the day at around
4pm and didn't get done with the first three until about midnight, II
and III are quite long compared to the originals. I still feel the
prequel trilogy will get more accepted over time when watching them all
together, rather than disecting them individually, but Jar Jar and
yippee and the very forced romantic dialogue from Hayden still makes me
cringe. I'm really liking ROTS now after my third viewing, despite
feeling that the whole middle part of the movie has nothing but talk
and not so much action, Anakin going to Palpatine, then Obi Wan, then
Padme, then Windu, back to Palpatine....

Started watching IV afterwards but just got tired and bored with it
half way through. Had to stop. It still will take some time accepting
that IV follows III visually...it still looks too old.

I'll pull off the mega marathon some day.

In many ways it always will since (most of) Episode IV movie was made
almost 30 years before Episode III movie.

*BUT*
You do have to remember that in the story there's a 20 year gap between
the two and during that time the Empire has squashed any technological
advancement that wasn't for it's own use, so most of the galaxy is
still using old droids / ships / etc. made during or before the Clone
Wars.

SLacker. I did the same and have watched ROTS twice since then. ;-)

My view -- they do stick together rather well. I intentionally watched the
non-SE of IV (due to not liking the additional scenes, narrative flow-wise)
as part of the 'thon, and was moved by many before-the-sequels throwaway
lines, esp. "Only together can we turn [Luke] to the dark side" and "Soon
the rebellion will be crushed and young Skywalker will be one of us."

Has anyone sat down and watched the movies in order INCLUDING watching the
two clone wars cartoon series in sequence before moving from EpII to
EpIII?!!

The news had come out in the First World War: The bloody Red Baron was
flying wonce more. The Allied Command ignored all of its men, and
called on "Anybody" to do it again!

I watched the Holiday Special in between IV and V, and it really
helped tie the two together better.

Don't forget to watch the Ewok Movies at the end to given the series the
proper since of closure.

I watched all six movies in order on Christmas Eve but I didn't bother with
the Clone Wars.

I watched all the movies, the two Clone Wars DVDs, the holiday special, the
Droids and Ewoks DVDs and read the entire EU series of books in one sitting.

Yes, and you must not forget the "Droids" cartoon in between Episodes
III and IV, to lay to rest any unanswered questions as to what
happened to the droids after they were given to Captain Antilles on
Tantive IV, and before they ended up in the hands of Captain Antilles
on Tantive IV.

It would take months just to read all the EU books (adult and kids) ...
besides you forgot all the comics and computer games, so you'd better
start all over again. ;-)
