KING KONG works not because of the billions of pixels spent rendering the
downfall of wild nature, but due to the awesome, natural, wild, pure,
perfect talents of Naomi Watts. I appreciate all of her work, of course, and
she has always shown wonderful ability; that certain inexplicable ease with
which she creates a character out of almost nothing (with no apologies to
the screenwriters). PJ may be afraid of the Wild, he may hate it, or he may
think he reveres it, but seeing the look in Naomi's eyes when Kong dies (and
the moments of pure beauty when they are together otherwise) speaks endless
volumes about why we must rediscover our wild selves. Civilization is a
freak out of nature, a pitiful concrete construct like the phallic spire of
the Empire State Building. Only a gentle yet fierce feminine beauty, a
poetic reassertion of all that is natural as portrayed - nay, lived - by Ms.
Watts in her performance (the only humane performance in the film, although
Kong is close) can save us from our death spiral off the fragile, crumbling
remnants of the artificial prison we have made for ourselves.
Once before I saw it, the seemingly impossible, an actor transmuting her
performance into art. Jodi Foster in NELL. Now I have born witness to it
again. It is a miracle, amid the unreality of such an SFX extravaganza, that
this human being, this incredible woman, should triumph over cold, inhuman
technology. I hope we all have the courage to do the same. Otherwise, our
"real world" will become our Terminated future.

You should check out Mulholland Drive, it's quite a wierd movie, but it has
lots of Naomi Watts being a real peach as well as a very facetted actress,
(and I haven't even mentioned the juicy bits).

The audition scene was stunning. Her character just flew there. That girl
blows my mind everytime I watch her... but particularly in Mullholand Drive!
What an actress.

That's called "Letting your dick do a movie review".
And by the way, anyone who thinks Jodie Foster's performance in Nell was
anything other than idiocy really is suspect in thir own mental faculties.
