Hello,
In Ep3, when Yoda comes to fight against Sidious, how can he let himself be
surprised by the first Sidious shot ? Sidious is not specially fast at this
moment, he's talking while raising his hands. And the Sith flashes are know
by the Jedis since Dooko used it against Anakin and Obiwan.
And then, when Yoda is unconscious at the ground, why Sidious is waiting for
him ? Can we seriously think that Sidious intends to fight fairly ?

There is no way to explain it. Yoda was able to block Dooku's lightning
in AOTC and Sidious' on the Senate pod in ROTS. Sidious basically told
him he was going to attack so there was no surprise involved.

He may have underestimated the strength or speed of the lightening
itself. So, although he knew it was coming, it's delivery may have been
unexpected.

I just figured Palpy was more powerful than Dooku, he was the Sith
master.
As for waiting to Yoda to get up, maybe Palpy is just savoring the
moment, you want to toy with your prey when you're that evil.

His overconfidence is his weakness.
