Did we ever find out who the future guy was
on Enterprise? I missed most of the 4th season.
I'm catching back up and am just starting the
3rd.

No, that's an incredibly important bit of information that was a
mystery for multiple episodes, that the producers neglected to
bother to reveal to us.

I would have cared in the beginning. the time meddling arc was
interesting, then. But after the third year, I didn't care that
much. I didn't want one episode more about time travel.

Well, with that many episodes with him in it they
really should have fit it in somehow. Too bad.

I don't think they understand the concept of a story arc- like, you work it
out beforehand and reveal it episode by episode. As such, they probably
never knew or cared who he was. It was probably just "we'll put this guy in
it, and maybe we'll think up a good explanation of who he is, or one of the
staff writers will, or something". So it wasn't so much forgotten, as never
thought in the first place.

Damn Ian, you're right on the mark:

"Rick Berman has stated in interviews that at no time was the identity of
"Future Guy" ever developed, nor a backstory created for the character. The
series never revealed the identity of the Suliban benefactor. "

Thanks for the link.

That is such crap that the guy is in that many episodes and
we never get to find out who he was! Damn it.

A rumor was that it was going to be Archer from the future doing this
for some reason.
Also when I first saw the guy - I thought it might be that Vulcan guy
that was always trying to get the Enterprise project shut down. (Gary
Graham is the actor - i forget his character name)
