| The American Flag [message #174248] |

I just watched ROTS and this time, I noticed something I never did before...
....the very first time Anakin is with Padme in her apartment, look out the
window, in particular a ship flying to the left is actually an American
Flag.
Also, during the scene where Padme is looking out her window towards the
Jedi Temple and while Anakin is looking out the window to Padme's apartment,
I noticed something about the buildings.
In one brief moment, from Padme's apartment, I noticed the buildings have
changed from curved tops to normal skyscrapers.
I believe that this is the Manhattan Skyline.
Of course, the Empire State Building is very noticable in other scenes, in
particular when Anakin tells Padme he is going to Mustafar to end the war.
For a film that was produced outside of the United States, it is interesting
to notice that many references.
Cheers!

Episode III was filmed mainly in Australia, but all the computer
graphics work was still done by ILM in America.
All six Star Wars movies are "American produced", but they were filmed
mostly somewhere else - UK, Australia, and on-location in Tunisia,
Norway, etc.

Could you post the time-stamp on this or better yet a screen-shot? BTW one
thing I have sorely missed are "cameos" of different things like "1138"
somewhere in the movie, or star trek ships or extended universe spacecraft
and things of that nature.

Yet the production hub is in Sydney - that's for ALL the prequels.
Go figure!

There was little point in shifting ILM since "all" they have to do is
work on computers which can be done anywhere on the planet thanks to
this crazy new thing called "the Internet". :-)

Interesting....remember the NASA astronaut (in spacesuit/helmet) in A New
Hope (in the cantina on Tatooine)....same sort of thing....
had a US flag/Nasa Logo on his sleeve).
