I dunno.. How subtle/explicit do you wanna be? Any fave characters? How
many letters do they allow on a plate where you live? Here's a few.
G H R S -- The four Houses
MC S F S -- The four Heads of Houses
HRH--the trio. Though it also looks like His/Her Royal Highness...

I'm not sure how many they allow. Looks like 7, but I haven't actually
checked.

I remember seeing that page. It was because of that site that I decided to get
ELVNKIN for my new CA lisence plate.
If you live in Los Angeles, our DMV has the process online, so you can try out
various combinations. See if you can do it in your DMV online.
If one doesn't work, you can try another one right away at home, not trying to
think up new ones in-line at the DMV.

Yes - don't do it.
If you really have to do it, use something that the average person will
not immediately recognize.
Twice I had to go to court to prove I was not near an accident when my
plate was identified by someone.

Around here you can't get as many letters on a bike as on a car. It's
seven for a car, but only six for a bike. Hence FIREBOLT wouldn't even
fit on a car, you'd have to make it one letter shorter. maybe FIREBLT?
And on a bike you'd have to shorten it further to maybe FIRBLT. Pity,
really.

Sometimes the limitations make it so you have to be satisfied with
_suggesting_ what you mean, and the fact that a numeric digit "maps" to
a syllable can help, thus:

Vanity Plates are not worth the money. THere was a time when both I and
my brother had Government Plates - our initials and a single large
number - plus an added smaller number for additional cars. Our "plates"
were forever causing accidents - even when we weren't near the scene and
could prove it. Thankfully - the police would check where we were before
they tried to confront because they were accustomed to this. But - it
was such a hassle when we WERE near the accident - just not in it. I
couldn't wait to get rid of them.
People remember your plates in their mind so if you are going to use
vanity plates - use something that doesn't spell an easy to remember
word if you have to.
