bigger is better... when it's your i.q. on display
Majestic string sounds in the background, a shuffling beat and an
acoustic guitar figure that goes around and around, like a cat chasing
its tail forever.
A male vocalist is featured on this track, with a dry and witty rap. A
little along the lines of John Safran.
The lyrics were genuinely amusing! Original, clever, thoughtful,
referencing a diverse selection of literature, not to mention popular
culture. I loved the nod towards the Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy.
This guy is the thinking woman's rapper. Hooray for words of more than
one syllable! Hooray for intelligence, boldly displayed! So much more
impressive than the usual bland posturing.
It's also good to hear profanity used in a meaningful fashion. Too many
singers/rappers turn to this as an easy option, or for shock value.
The mix is fine, all in its rightful place. The only thing that I could
suggest is that the rapper tries to use a little more bite during his
performances, just express a little more attitude. I do wish the
band/artist the best of luck for their career in the long-term. They
surely deserve it!

Strange mix
Accoustic guitar was pretty and well played but I had a tough time
getting it as there were a few too many notes and a strange emphasis on
the timing. I saw the song wore on I appreciated a bit more but it seemed
a bit much for the beginning. Perhaps a simpler version of the riff to
start the song would be more effective.
Drum sound surprised me as well. The distant, drum-loppy sound didnt go
well with the accoustic.
The vocals also surprised me as belonging to a different style.
That being said after my initial surprise, once I got used to it, the
song does work and has a nice groove and flow to it.
The mix was clean and the prodcution appropriate to the style.
Overall, this is not my style of music. The guitar was the strongest
musical statement in the song and was the main part that kept my
attention. The drum and vocals were average. Nothing bad but nothing real
original either.
I suppose that for anyone who likes this genre of song, it would be
pleasant to listen to.
tribe called test
This was a very great guitar part, and it immediately grabbed my
attention. A nice selection to pick, anyhow it helped my interest. The
focus here is definitely the rap and there is some good word usage going
on and in the second verse I liked how there was some change-up on the
rhythym for the rhyme. This helped keep my attention. Overall a very
tight track. There were a few things I thought could do different, there
could be a little more funk to the bass line and rapping could be a
little louder but overall nice and original!
