| After watching Eps. III & IV [message #166471] |

I can't believe it, but I actually like Episode III better than IV.
In episode III:
R2 has all the gadgets, is the hero, no doubt!
Obi-Wan is having fun with buzz droids, vulture droids, Grievous, Clones,
slices Anakin, etc.
Anakin is betrayed by the Jedi order.
Anakin trusts Palpatine.
Good ending, Anakin becomes Vader!!
In episode IV:
R2 is a complete novice. Needs a crane to hoist him into Luke's X-Wing.
Obi-Wan is learning how to use a light saber, as evident by his dance with
Vader.
Luke learns that his uncle lied to him all those years.
Luke trusts Obi-Wan.
Good ending, Luke destroys the Death Star!!
The special effects, sound effects, etc. seem especially better in episode
III, yet the acting seems superior in episode IV.
Both movies are good, they just feel different (from a certain point of
view).
Cheers! =D

You have to remember that they both are a lot younger in Ep3 than Ep4.
Jedi's in their prime
> Anakin is betrayed by the Jedi order.
Not betrayed at all. They didn't trust him due to his associations with old
palpy trousers.
They were not about to put all their trust in him just yet. Mace told him
as much.
In time they would have trusted him. It was more like Palpatine betrayed
Anakin than the Jedi order.
Palpatine Lied to him for his own gain.

Agreed. Could have done without the stupid strop though

R2 obviously had a good few things de-activated or removed on Alderaan. His
jetpack included. Being a peaceful planet with no guns, they would not want
any weapons of war, or anything else that reminds them or wars. This is why
C3PO had his memory erased.

Obi-Wan was an old man here, and in no way was he "Learning".
Possibly he was rusty after all those years in the wilderness living as a
hermit.
He held his own with Vader until Luke turned up, and he decided to "become
one" with the force.

Wouldn't You ?

Very memorable. Especially for all of us 8-year olds in 1977.

I guess we all get something different from it.

So was Darth Vader rusty too? It seems if they were both rusty, or old,
Vader shouldn't have been able to hold his own against Luke in V & VI.
Okay, possibly in V. One can argue that Vader practiced more after Episode
IV, but come on. This is all rationalization. The prequels had superior
duels. Lucas should digitally augment the Obi-Wan / Vader duel in the next
incarnation of the film (as long as the original is always accessible
though).

I would have assumed that this was to protect the twins from C3PO's big
mouth.

I'm mid-30s and like both AOTC and ROTS better than ANH. Furthermore, I
find ESB to be possibly the weakest of the six films and always have. Not
everyone engages in groupthink.

True, and not everyone thinks dogshit tastes better than filet mignon.

Nope, some of us like London broil steaks with a lemon pepper glaze better.
