I saw the DVD of "Revenge of the Sith" today and found it quite good. Two
questions though: Why did Yoda give up in his battle with the Emperor so
easily? It seems he was matching him blow for blow and came within inches of
watching the Emperor plunge to his death. (yoda had less body mass so his
fall was not fatal, as when a cat can fall 10 stories and not get injured).
Second, who were the three stooges that went with Mace Windu to arrest the
Emperor? They went down so easily I cannot figure them to be Jedi Knights.
Four Jedi Knights could not defeat the Emperor and yet Yoda almost did it by
himself?

He had a limited amount of time. He knew that the clones were on the way
and wouldnt have been able to take on them and the emporer.

One of them was Kit Fisto, I dont know the others names.

Yoda is much more powerful than the other Jedi knights.

Because if he beat him, GL would have to do a serious remake of IV-VI, and I
don't think the technology is there for that yet....but give him time. I'm
sure he's working on ANH v.6 as we speak.

Others have answered the real questions, but I have to say this is
nonsense. A cat SOMETIMES not being injured by falling large distances
has nothing to do with it's body mass - it's due to the cat's natural
dexterity and abilities: it can turn itself around so that it (almost)
always lands on it's feet and has exceelent "shock absorbers" in it's
legs. Cats can and do get injured from falling large heights, including
suffering broken legs.
Yoda's fall was broken and slowed by several brief landings /
collisions on the way down, so that it wasn't just a direct plunge to
the floor. He probably did sustain many injuries, but like a cat's
natural abilities, Yoda's Jedi abilities would have helped lessen what
happened - any normal person would probably still have died.

Basically, Yoda may have been able to prevent the Sith coming to power if
his one finger nail was a little sharper.

Probably a reference to those japanese manga where a lone warrior can
fell a crowd of assassins in one panel.
or the american western with the fast gunslinger.
Or not enough time to shoot an extended lightsaber scene when there's
already one
coming up between him and mace windu.

The scene was very different and re-shot . . . the "logic" behind it's
current state is that Palpatine took them off guard (they were kind of
cramped). Personally, they could have drawn the fight out longer with them
all surrounding Palpatine (like your typical martial arts movie) and had
Palpy take them out one at a time in slightly longer fights (ala Dooku).
Then end with the final battle the way it is with Mace (but I would like to
have seen a sword duel between Mace and Anakin - not just a cut hand and a
force push). Anakin should have been the one to kill Mace 100% and thereby
seal his path to the dark side.
Of course, this is what *I* would do, if I had the chance to do it.

I like the idea, it just takes far too long (I was expecting this to be
fixed for the DVD, with a few cuts, etc.) It should have been one elaborate
move that killed all by Windu. I think a part of the problem, is that Lucas
insists on showing each Jedi's reaction to being stabbed which takes up some
extremely valuable screen-time and just makes the thing look drawn out and
ridiculous.
What might have been cool: Palpatine does an extremely fast move (*almost*
invisble to the naked eye,) which ends with him and the equally fast Windu
locking swords. Then the remaining Jedi fall apart.
Now *that* would have been a nice martial arts moment.

They were Jedi Masters. Mace also had the soon to be Emperor beaten, too.
Only the sudden turning up and betrayal by Anakin saved the Emperor.

Or is that what Palpy /wanted/ Anakin to think?

Question I have is ...... The Emperor must have sensed Padme had just
died (when Vader asked if she was alright), so why didnt he sense she
gave birth to 2 kids???

There are lots of different possibilities:
1) The Jedi sensed that the Senate was under the influence of a Sith Lord,
but not that Palpy WAS that Sith. Palp's failure could be the result of a
similar blind spot.
2) Anakin was created by a manipulation of Midis. Qui-Gon discovered him
through direct observation of his abilities, but didn't "sense" his Jedi
potential upon their first meeting. Perhaps this engineered life is
difficult to sense unless you know the person. By extension, their
offspring could be similarly difficult to sense.
3) The twins were born under Jedi protection. The Jedi may have a technique
to conceal them.
4) Midis may not replicate enough to be detectable in the first few hours or
days after birth. The twins were spirited away quickly enough to throw the
Sith of their scent.
5) Palpatine only sensed Padme's death through Anakin's connection with her.
Anakin had no emotional connection to the unborn twin, so could not sense
them.
Some of the explanations are better than others and I'm sure we could come
up with a dozen more (better than any EU author's explanation, no doubt).
Unless and until Lucas answers the question, you can choose your favorite.

I disagree with the first question. I think Yoda realized it was
either to be a stalemate or Palpy winning. Better to drop back for ten
and regroup.
As for your second question, Mace Windu, Kip Fisto, Saesee Tiin and
Agen Kolar were all Jedi Masters. Palpy got the jump of them because
they had no idea of how powerful Palpy truely was. Sure the knew he
was the Sith Master but he's always been the Manipulater and not really
has shown his fighting abilities not to mention he didn't "limit"
himself to fighting fair. He used to Dark Side of the force to fight
with, something the Jedi Masters don't do (with the exception of Mace
who, as I understand it, uses the power of the Dark Side to fill him
then turns that energy around which is why there has only been one
master of his fighting style).
Also in the Book Palpy had his lightsaber encased in a statue when he
first took office. He placed that statue by the door and only at the
time he needed to, he ignited the blade (thus allowing the saber to
burrow a hole through the statue) and pulled it to his hand. But that
was in the book, not the movie.

He knew it was better to be patient.
Why risk leaving the burden of the galaxy to Obi-wan. Yoda knew he
could do better to let the Emperor go and focus on the future.
It was important for him to face him though, to see first hand what
they were dealing with.

Those three dimwits were actually jedi masters that sat with Yoda on the
council. I guess they grew complacent after years and years and years of
talking instead of actually doing.

He did... Obi-Wan tells Luke in Empire that the emperor knew that the
offspring of Anakin Skywalker would be a threat to him, and that's why they
were split up and hidden.

Midi-chlorians got nothing to do with it. The Emperor knew he had children.
Watch empire again where Luke confronts Obi-Wans ghost about why he lied to
him about Vader killing his father.
