Hi,
My son loves dragons and I'm hoping to buy him some dragon things for Christmas.
Are there any online portals that sell dragon items? I found
http://www.dragon-gifts.com but they have more D&D type stuff.
In any event advice is appreciated (apologies if this is off-topic).

If DVDs are your thing "Dragonheart" has some great effects and
"Dragonslayer" is generally accepted to have the best "effects" dragon....
"Flight of Dragons" is good for its time but darn hard to find these days.
Books?
"Flight of Dragons" by Peter Dickinson (originally NEL) was reissued by
Paper Tiger some while ago, "Dragonology" and "Working with Dragons" by
"Ernest Drake" have their adherents as well.

Dragons off-topic for dragon fans? Never! :)
Pandora's Dragons is a reputable online store:
http://www.pandorasdragons.com/
As is Dancing Dragon:
http://www.dancing-dragon.com/catalog/customer/home.php
Both stores have been online for several years, and have high quality
dragon related stuff.
Your son has good taste. <grins>

It's many years since I've posted here, but this thread is very
relevant to a new project which I've started.
I'm putting together a web site with a directory of reputable dragon
friendly companies and products. The initial emphasis is on the UK, but
I'll consider others if they ship to the UK.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Also, suggestions of other Dragon related products would be helpful,
ideally with comments on why they are good, and if not generally
available, where they can be obtained (ideally in the UK).
Thanks for your patience in reading this post, and thanks in advance
for any suggesions you might make.
Best regards to any and all who remember me,
Dragonlight

A US section? This side of the pond has about as many dragons as that
side.

I thought "Flight of Dragons" was based off of "The Dragon and the
George" by Gordan R. Dickson (which is also a good book series) Also
in the book realm is "The Pit Dragon Trilogy," "Joust" by Mercedes
Lackey... I can find more if you want them.
Dancing Dragon was mentioned, they have lots of dragon stuff, but also
look into Michael Whelan (www.michaelwhelan.com) for art and statues,
he's one of my mom's favourites ^_^ The Pyramid Collection is a good
catalog for dragons and lots more. If you still need ideas, I'm sure
myself and my fellow denizens of Alfandria will be more than happy to
help you.

Agreed, but later. I'm only at the preliminary stages, so I thought
starting on home territiry would be best, but if I get a quantity of
non UK suggestions, I'll put them in.

Flight of Dragons the FILM owes a lot to The Dragon and the George but Peter
Dickinsons BOOK "The Flight of Dragons" is an entirely different kettle of
fish....it's a natural history that is referenced in the movie ("shut up and
eat your limestone!"). Originally published by NewEnglishLibrary it has been
reprinted under the Paper Tiger imprint.
It has many many illustrations...
