That is all that is worth watching. How much did Spielberg contribute? It
seems as if the difference in quality, story, action and acting increase by
50 in ROTS.

Yes, but 50% better than not very much to start with is still not very much.

ROTS has a whole lot to start with. It is the prelude to the others. TPM
and AOTC offers very little. Only AOTC offers the stormtroopers at least.

Speilberg contributed almost nothing in Episode III, and only barely
more than he's contributed to any of the Star Wars movies.

It was Spielbergs idea to have Anakin and Obi Wan fight on the tower as it
falls into the lava. One of the best parts of the movie.

In my humble opinion, episodes 3 & 4 are all I need, I've rid myself of the
other episodes a while back.
I have my complete collection now.

Wrong dude. He directed a scene I believe.

But that's only one scene (if that) out of how many? As I said, he did
ALMOST nothing. I seem to recall reading somewhere that all he did was
make some comments on the storyboard / animatic, not actually direct
properly, but that could be wrong since I didn't take much notice.
He's offered George Lucas commenst and advice on all six of the movies
before they were finished and released.

Looks like George took a lot of advice this time.

According to a TV interview, GL said that Speilberg directed a few
action sequences.

They all offer shit stories and shit acting.
There are bits of inspiration here and there, but it's all just a big muddle
when put together.

I would not doubt if he co-directed. The jump in quality and scope is too
great to come from the mind of Lucas given the horrible acting and limited
scope in AOTC. Yes, backgrounds that seem either rushed or ill-conceived,
Dookou getting away on some speeders bike, when he could have used a small
ship. That bike had no place where they were at. The limited amount of
Jedi in the film also. I also pictured prequels with Jedi KNIGHTS acting in
that role - knights. I expected plenty of them and in action. Instead, we
saw a lot of Jedi masters and leadership, but not many knights.
