lightsaber effects ?

Do you mean sounds or images?
Any image program will do - create a colored line, blur it, change a bit of
the opacity - or add a glow effect to liking . . .
As to sounds . . .

Chuck,
Many thanks for the links regarding sounds of the lightsaber. That will be
handy.
I meant that I need an application that will let me do lightsaber effects on
video. A few years ago I came across a trialware package taht let you mark
where the lightsaber was and then making out where it would travel to in so
many frames. You then rendered it and this glowing line would follow the
lightsaber around the screen.
Unfortunately I lost the software but there must be soem people out there
who can help as all these "Star wars kid" movies and other spoof movies are
brilliant
