To adapt an old joke, any computer that's connected to the internet
will be vulnerable to attack. That's why I use Tiscali broadband.
I'm having problems with my ISP, and won't be able to do this chapter
or anything else until I sort things out. So can anyone else take up
the baton for the time being? Thanks.
Cheers, ymt.

Oh dear. Hope everything is sorted out soon.

Gregory Hernandez has offered (by e-mail) to take up the baton, and I've
gratefully accepted his offer. Thanks Greg! Hopefully Greg should be
able to post something soon, so watch this space!

If no one else is willing to do a full-scale intro, I can hack up a
brief summary and sketch some possible discussion topics today. If
we'd prefer a more substantial outline then better wait for someone
else; I don't have time to do that today.

OK, I'll just wait for Gregory and then post my own comments after
his.

Dunno if this counts as 'soon', but I'm back online, around 5 weeks
after Tiscali disconnected me. Still wondering whether or not to
report them to Ofcom for violating our contract.
