I greatly enjoyed the deleted Mon Mothma's scenes on Episode III and I
truly regret they were cut from the movie together with the scene where
Padm=E9 presents the "petition of the 2000" to Palpatine. I have a
question though: if those deleted scenes were somehow re-inserted in
the movie, where exactly (chronologically, I mean) would they appear ?
Any suggestions ?

I thought that should have been in there too as it would give us an idea as
to why there was a rebel alliance and what they rebelled about. The Shaak
Tiy scene should have been left in too, for the look.

I'm kind of upset we didn't get the Liam Neeson scenes.

I can't recall exactly where they go but if you read the Ep 3 novel you can
see exactly where they go in the time line.

The scene where the Senators are discussing events (with Mon Mothma)
would be shortly before Padme is discussing it with Anakin, when he
says she's sounding like a seperatist. I agree that the scenes should
have been left in, many of them furthered the story.

Indeed. Lucas said in the introduction it's because he wanted to focus
entirely on Anakin, but the first two were very much 'ensemble' movies, and
Padme's limited role here was complained about by most of the critics.
Nice scenes, though. Loved Palpatine's line about the Delegation of 5000:
"Their sincerity is to be commended, but I suspect there is some deeper
reasoning that I have not yet grasped."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't trust them."
Great little Sir Humphrey Appleby moment there.

There were no Liam Neeson scenes filmed, so you couldn't have gotten
something that never existed.
There was audio recorded for Qui-Gon but it wasn't used. (It was to have
been heard over Yoda meditating on Polis Massa just before Bail interrupts
him to announce Obi-Wan is arriving with the injured Padme after Anakin is
left for dead on Mustafar).
Lucas has said on many occasions that Qui-Gon never fully learned how to
surrender to The Force and that's why he didn't vanish when struck down by
Darth Maul and why he never appears in a ghostly form (Obi-Wan, who was
taught by Qui-Gon over 20 years on Tattooine, DID learn the full Lesson of
the Whills and so he does vanish when struck down by Vader and he goes
ghostly).
Liam Neeson has confirmed in several interviews pre and post-ROTS release
that he never stepped in front of a camera as Qui-Gon after Episode I, but
he did read lines for Lucas over the phone one day.

Actually, Yoda taught Obi-Wan how to surrender to the Force. EP III has a
scene in the last 15 minutes where Yoda says something like while you are
watching over the child on Tatooine, I have something for you to study. I've
been speaking with your former master, Qui Gon, and he's taught me in the
ways of surrendering to the Force fully.
Of course Yoda says it backwards and more eloquent, but you get the idea. QG
taught Yoda who taught OW.

No, it would have hurt the pace and wasn't necessary for the movie's story.

Watch it again..he says "Teach you how to communicate with him, I will", so
not only does Qui-Gon teach Obi-Wan, but he teaches Yoda, too.

IAWTP. IF these scnes had been in the theatrical version, it would have
sucked. I wouldn't mind them being in some "Extended Directors Cut" or
special edition...but the theatrical cut was pretty tight, for the most
part, except for the Padme / Anakin scenes. Adding more Padme would have
made things worse.

That's where I got mixed up. Yoda teaches Obi-Wan how to communicate, not
how to surrender to the Force. Thanks

I keep trying to figure out (and no one else seems to care) WHO then taught
Anakin to become one with the Force??
If it took Obi-Wan & Yoda 20-odd years of solitude & meditation to learn,
when would Darth Vader have time - or would he even bother- while he's
running around being evil? That's the most glaring hole in this entire PT.
Lucas kept saying 'we see that in the next episode' after 1 & then 2. So, 3
comes along and it's not addressed either.
If this is a brand new ability or knowledge that Obi-Wan & Yoda came up with
after hearing from Qui-Gon, how would Anakin have just happened upon it
also.. or better yet, be more capable at it, since he was able to appear in
a different form than when his physical body died? (forget the stupid
'Anakin really died in Ep 3, then Vader was born' crap)

From: http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/darthsidious/
Plagueis, the wise, was an adept of some of the most arcane and unnatural
applications of the Force. As Sidious described, Plagueis had uncovered a
path to immortality through the manipulation of the dark side of the
Force. Plagueis could, it was said, coax the midi-chlorians present in
all living cells to create life from nothingness.
But for a Sith, immortality was a futile pursuit. The secretive Sith
order counted upon the death of a master and the rise of an apprentice to
further itself.
Now this is all just my theory, but in the novelization and the graphic
novel of Episode III, when Qui-Gon speaks to Yoda, he reveals that
compassion was the key to becoming one with the Force.
From the novelization: "The ultimate goal of the Sith, yet they can never
achieve it; it comes only by the release of self, not the exaltation of
self. It comes through compassion, not greed. Love is the answer to the
darkness."
From the graphic novel: "The ability to defy death can be achieved, but
only for oneself. A shaman of the whills discovered the secret - but it
will never be accomplished by a Sith Lord. It is a state acquired through
compassion, not greed."
*MY* *theory* is that its possible that Plagueis did discover the secret,
and did teach it to his apprentice, Darth Sidious, but they couldn't pull
it off. Darth Sidious then taught it to Anakin / Darth Vader, who was
only able to pull it off after destroying the Sith in an act of
compassion and selflessness due to the love for his son, Luke.
So he knew the secret for a while, but it wouldn't work for him as he was
consumed by darkness, but once he regained his compassion, he was able to
use the secret, and give himself over to the Force, and join with it. I
think that's why when Luke says "I've got to save you!", Anakin replies
with "You already have, my son."
