The COTW discussion ended a little while ago, but today the page
http://parasha.maoltuile.org/ has been completed! Yay!
Notes:
-- Wish I had checked out the page before posting Indices II-IV; oh
well, everybody was very kind about it (BG)
-- I followed the group consensus for that last topic and deleted it.
Oh well. ;^)
-- Re: Discussion series for /The Silmarillion/: Someone else is doing
that, I don't know who. It will be a different page and different
contact person. I surrender my stewardship (now, if only I could live
happily ever after with Faramir...well, a girl can dream, can't she).

Yay! Many, many thanks Belba for stewarding the page. You did an
excellent job, and many, many thanks again to Dr Blofeld and Een Wilde
Ier for starting the project. It has been an amazing experience.

I enjoyed reading your excellent introductions and thoughts on the
indices. The newsgroups managed to get a fair amount of discussion going
about them.

What? The "Tolkien and LotR" post? That was an excellent post. In fact,
it was so good that I flagged it to respond to, and I'd bet several
other people did as well. That sort of thing requires cogitation and
digestion before composing a reply!

I'll post something about the /The Silmarillion/ discussion series this
weekend. I might even try and do something about the Foreward for Monday
to introduce /The Silmarillion/ discussion series.

I second that -- Dr. B. and EWI, thank you very much for making this
excellent idea a reality.

Thank you. Folks on the newsgroups have made this a wonderful project,
and useful Tolkien online resource, from the start.

Beano's good for that. If it's not available in the UK, then a simple
mixture of 1 tsp sodium bicarbonate in 8 oz warm water ought to suffice.

PS: You'll have to change the "page completed" note back to "page last
updated," of course. Looking forward to the Sil discussion!

LOL! In the UK, Beano is a children's comic.

Yay, indeed!
Allowing myself to indulge in a small nitpicking, I don't really
think you'll need the reserve volunteer list any longer ... ;-)
It's an amazing to go down the list and recall all that we've
achieved -- we could make a book of it ;-)

;-)
But if such are your dreams, you should expect to receive the same
answer he got
'That office is not ended, and it shall be thine and thy
heirs' as long as my line shall last. Do now thy office!'
Such will not be the answer you get, but only because we have not the
power ...
Instead you will receive our gratitude for executing your office so
well; thank you!

Count me in on the 'digesting and cogitating' crew ;-)
(I made a hard-copy to help along my cogitations)

Apparently, along with 'The Dandy'.

True, but perhaps it should remain to honor those who were willing to
help out; hmm...with the Silmarillion discussion starting out, though,
perhaps it should be updated and/or removed.

We did, and it was published worldwide. :-)

That's really nice; thank you very much. I have passed the breadstick
of office on to Christopher now and am busy with the phone book now,
looking through the F's. So far, no listing. If he were a prince, I
could look under Faramir Gondor or Faramir Ithilien, judging by the
example set with Harry and William Wales in Britain, but no, will have
to do it the hard way, I guess.
Thank you again, it was a joy to do and I'm glad I was able to help out.
:^)
