Just rented it from Choices, and it came on 1 disc....

I'm going to buy it this week when I get paid, and I've been checking out
the best prices....So far it looks like Tesco's at £14-99, but I still
havent looked in Makro yet....

Anyway, all the versions in the shops for purchase have a sticker on the
cover saying "UK special 2 disc edition"....

So what's on the second disc? The rental version seemed to have the main
feature and all the extra features on the one disc.....

There was an article in the LA Times about Tesco two or three weeks ago.
They reported that Walmart has complained Tesco has to great a sway in the
UK and they're having trouble gaining a foothold against it. You Brits
should get on your knees and thank God for Tesco if that's the case. It's
beyond ironic to hear of Walmart, a ravaging corporate juggernaut for those
of you lucky enough not to be acquainted with its rape of American small
business and labor, complain of unfair competition.

Yeah, WalMart own the chain of supermarkets called "Asda" in this
country.....Tesco's monopolistic approach to the industry is exactly the
same as Walmart's....

Check out the pictures I took by clicking on the picture

There are something like 111 pictures there. If you only

Not at all. Low prices at places like Walmart are like dating a beautiful
woman then marrying her only to find she has chronic gas that would make a
warthog's eyes run, three snot-nosed bratty kids and a battle-axe of a
mother who she plans to move in with you. It sure seemed nice to buy 50
plastic widgets you didn't really need and the new Brittney Spears album for
only $1.12, but then you've got to put up with unfair labor practices,
pollution, the destruction of small businesses, the draining of the local
economy, ugly box stores, an overloaded pubic health system from Walmart
not paying its employees enough to afford their inadequate health insurance
benefit program and that funny smell that all Walmarts ooze. What is that
smell anyway? A mixture of grease and stress hormones? The prices aren't
really low, the management has just managed to hide them, avoid them and
pass them on to the taxpayers.

It is unpleasant when Walmart hires workers at minimum wage, which is not
nearly enough to sustain oneself here in the United States, and then offers
them insurance someone working for minimum wage couldn't possibly afford.
This forces the people to use tax-supported medical coverage, shifting the
burden from Walmart to the general public. All this would be solved if
America were a civilized nation that, like nearly all other industrialized
nations, provided free or reduced-price health care to all its people. But
it isn't since we've got Republican neoconservatives running the country who
by comparison make the Vogons look like Mother Teresa. ):-(

I love how the questions submitted to these froups never get answered
and somehow turn into random rants about
corporations/people/acne/politicians/penis sizes.

Amazon.co.uk states the 2 disc edition as having:

=B7 Special Feature Information:

=B0 Additional Guide Entry
=B0 Deleted Scenes
=B0 Really Deleted Scenes
=B0 Sing A Long
=B0 Audio Commentaries
=B0 Set Top Games Marvins Hangman
=B0 Dont Crash Making Of
=B7 Aspect Ratio: 2.35 Wide Screen

=B7 Disc Format: DVD 9

As for the ONE disc (full-screen) version:
DVD Features:

* Available Audio Tracks: (Dolby Digital 5.1)
* Deleted Scenes
* Fake Deleted Scenes (Way, way too-far-out outtakes)
* "The Making of The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy"
* 2 Wholly Remarkable Audio Commentaries - Executive producer and
Douglas Adams' Colleague Sean Solle; producer and actors

And the ONE disc (widescreen) version boasts:

# Available subtitles: Spanish, French
# Available Audio Tracks: English (Dolby Digital 5.1), English (DTS
5=2E1), French, Spanish
- Commentary by Executive producer and Douglas Adams' Colleague Sean

Ok, the deal is that the 2-disc version contains "Don't Crash", a 68-minute
making-of doc. The 1-disc does not.

http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=8043

"Don't Crash" is a UK exclusive, and I highly recommend snapping it up.

Overseas folks with region-free DVD players can order it from CD-Wow or
Amazon.co.uk. My copy from CD-Wow arrived safe and sound here in the US
last week.

When I heard about the "Y river accords" on the radio,
I found the name somewhat poetic. Then I read the paper
and found out they were talking about the Wye River Accords.
Most rivers are crooked. The exceptions are the ones that
go through Los Angeles in concrete trenches and ones like them.

Except for 'Don't Crash', which is UK-only and consitutes the second disc.

So "Don't Crash" is different from the Making-Of documentary that was on the

I can assure you this isn't an USA phenomen. The trend here in Germany
