Hi group!
I have recently bought an iPod, and it is sweet! (iPod 60 GB, yummy)
But the iTunes software is really annoying, so I am using the ml_ipod plugin
for Winamp to transfer music.
But I cannot seem to find any ways of tranferring photos without iTunes - do
you know if there exists a piece of software that does the trick?
Btw., I am using a Windows computer.
Regards,
Mogens

I would just get used to iTunes. Millions of people use it and are happy
with it. I think for you it's just a question of getting used to it,
after using different software before.
It would be a major hassle to try to imitate what iTunes does (copy
music and photos) with a different software package.

Millions of people are using Windows XP as well, but still some people
prefer using something else...
It is to some degree a matter of taste, but just as well a matter of
principle, as I am not very fond of installing a huge application to do some
minor tasks. And iTunes IS in fact a huge application, I have a P4 2.8 GHz,
and it definately took some of its breath away when I installed iTunes.
Which is why some nice people have created a plugin for Winamp (ml_ipod),
which lets you copy songs to/from your iPod, create playlists and so forth.
The only thing missing is a way to copy pictures to the iPod.
But thanks for your input :o)

Some months ago I started to investigate the effort to write such an
application for myself. I wanted to have such a tool to assist gtkpod
running under linux.
Unfortunately I have no time to progess - but, exspecially because of the
excellent documentation at http://ipodlinux.org/Main_Page of the
propetary binary files holding the image data, IMHO the effort
wouldn't be so enormous.
Perhaps someone reading wants to build such a tool. Would also help
all the people running a non MAC/Win32 OS.
