And England have regained the Ashes, winning them for the first time since
1987 and thus for the first time since I was born.

I remember when the San Francisco 49ers got their first Super Bowl,
not long after I came here. That was something like half my life ago.
Seeing all my neighbors celebrating it had a huge impact on my feelings
about the sport.

What a scary thought !
I remember the last time when I was young enough to be bored by cricket.
This time it seemed more like a real game rather than a kin to a watching
paint dry. I'm not sure if that is down to the players or my age.

Of course it doesn't! It's got no endless commercial breaks that are more
interesting than the actual event.

You can't complain it has too few or short commercial breaks!
I guess. I don't really watch it. I just come for the beer...

Ah, you must be referring to this immensely dull games whose name
resembles this certain xenophobic race.
Actually I think I never watched a cricket match in reality nor tv. I
wonder if it is actually played in Denmark at all...

Now that you mention it, I've never watched or played it as
an adult. I've read in the paper about people watching it on TV
though.
Baseball on the other hand, I seem to see played about once
a year...

My lord, you are a young-un. I recall clearly when a the 'worst ever'
Australian team toured the UK and a young S. Waugh averaged over 100 for
the entire Ashes season...sigh

Always been rather fond of it myself.

You could check www.cricket.dk. I would, but I don't speak Danish.
Also, was not the low point in English cricket about 10 years ago when
they lost a series to The Netherlands?

Oh. It actually seems it *is* played in Denmark too. Even in my home
town - why they insist on spelling it "kricket" this single place in
Denmark I have absolutely no idea though...
