How come there are no movies based on DS9 and VOY series? There are over 10
TNG movies, with characters from the series and so forth, but nothing from
from the latter two. Is it too early since the shows ended or what? Thanks

DS9 sets were destroyed soon after the finish and Voy made it home so where
can they go?

There were only 4 TNG movies, they got progressively worse ending with the
suckfest that was Nemesis (which *Admiral* Janeway was in) that pretty well
spelled the doom of *any* future Trek movie for a long time. TPTB figure the
Trek franchise needs "resting" instead of good writing.

Those shows weren't as popular as TOS or TNG.

Bewcause comepared to TNG their ratings are too low to sustain interest in a
film.

Even though DS9, Voyager and Enterprise were as good as TOS and TNG, the
general public just didn't get it. Only true trekkies enjoyed each and
every Star Trek produced. Earth Final Conflict and Andromeda were also
great.
The best sci fi now is SciFi Friday with StargateSG1, Atlantis and
Battlestar Galactica. Babylon 5 was also a great series.
They need a star trek movie that combines forces against a great other
galaxy threat. I'd like to see the Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Vulcan,
Tholsians, Metrons, Dorians and all the other major empires combine forces
for an intergalactic war that would make star wars look like a cake sale.

The production values of VOY and ENT were good but IMO the series were
poorly conceived and unevenly written. I would not put Voyager or
Enterprise in the same league with the previous three live action
Treks. Voyager, in particular, squandered its unique milieu for
tired, cliched storylines.

Sci-Fi Friday does entertain!

I feel Trek would be better served getting away from epic galaxy
saving stories and going back to more sci-fi types of tales. Of
course, I further realize every fan has something he or she gets of
Star Trek, but that is my assessment of "The State of the Trek."
Thanks for the opportunity for discussion.

Agree with you on BSG and B5. Maybe that's the definition of a Trekkie vs a
Trekker, a "true Trekkie" will watch anything with Roddenberry's name on it
and like it. I tried to watch Earth Final Conflict and never got in to it.
Andromeda, although the concept was kinda neat, was just plain bad. I for
one thought DS9 was the best post TOS Trek, followed by season 4 of ENT. TNG
had some good eps but generally was far too PC for my liking. Voy squandered
it's opportunities as it slipped down the suck scale.

>> How come there are no movies based on DS9 and VOY series?
The characters in DS9 were the most well developed and would lend to a
feature film.

Yea, I agree mostly. I did like E:FC but its first season was best and just
when it
started to get good again, they ended it.
B5, I liked for 3 years, then it changed stations on me and by the time I
found
it again, I couldn't get back into it. I'd like to catch the entire thing
again.

No compelling big screen actors in those shows, except maybe 7 of 9. TV is
2nd rate when it comes to making the transition with quality performances.
TNG had Stewart....

Find a place and rent them or just buy 'em, there allot cheaper than the
Trek DVDs. JMS's commentaries on them are interesting as well.
