| A mega violent TNG episode [message #118641] |

The strangest episode in all of star trek has got to be the one where those
bugs crawl into peoples ears and control them. They had infiltrated starfleet
command or something. It is strange because I cannot remember ever seeing
much blood in any TNG episode, a batlith scrape at most. Usually enemies
were either stunned or disintigrated, two very clean attacks. But this one
episode was mega violent and disturbing. Among the violent imagery, one
character's chest explodes, spewing organs and leaving a bloody open trunk,
decapitated with rib cage exposed. It was rather gruesome for a trek
episode.

Those bugs are like the Ceti eels in Star Trek II.
The most violent episode is probably Chain of Command.

What was so violent in this episode, that tops the exploding torso? If I
recall correctly, this is the "THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS" episode?

Uhhh, Captain Picard being tortured? Violence doesn't always mean gore.

While the Conspiracy episode was scary, it was not violent. The fake
body of Remmick looks like a plastic mannequin in a clothing store. It
was so like a scene from Aliens that I almost expected Ripley to come
into the room with her flamethrower. What is in Chain of Command is a
portrayal of torture. This is the most violent episode.

True story : they wondered if that scene was too violent
to show, so to test it they showed it to the young son
of one of the producers. He not only thought it was cool,
but said they should make a Remmick doll with a button on
his back that made his head and chest explode to show the
alien inside.
That's why they kept it.
