What's the strangest thing you've said that means something to the
person you said, but would sound incredibly awkward and strange were
someone to overhear it?
In my case, I just said to my sister about one of our cats, "If you get
any cuter you'll fall off the table."
Gwath, when he gets jealous, goes cute. He rolls on his back, stretches
his hind lage out, curls his forelegs under his chin and looks at
someone trying to "cutesify" someone into talking to him.

My dad once made a list of strange things said in our family. Here are a
few:
1) "The Cat’s holding me down"; or, "I can’t get up – I’ve got the Cat
on my lap": I want something done, but I want you to do it for me.
(only said if a cat is on or near the speaker)
2) "I don’t want any. I’ll just have some of yours": Usually referring
to dessert: I’m not hungry enough to have a serving, but it looks so
good I’ll have a bite of yours. (You won’t mind!)
3) "I know Ino. Do you know Ino? I know you know Ino. I know you know I
know Ino. I know I know Ino (etc.)": Play on the first name of my dad's
high school physics and trigonometry teacher.
4) "Lerts have more fun; be a lert. We lerts have to stick together":
Pay attention; play on the word “alert.”
5) "Rise and shine; it’s quarter to tomatoes!": Get out of bed.
6) "You’re welcome": Spoken when another person has failed to say,
“Thank you.” A not-so-subtle reminder or rebuke.

"Lettuce"
There was a discussion by my co-workers when I was on the assembly
line. Topic was certain pleasurable biological functions, as involves
vegetables, naming said vegetables. I hadn't heard the premise - just
the named veggies, so I walked up, said "lettuce" and walked away to
the amazed sputtering and laughter of the guys. A few minutes later -
once they all recovered - I was told what the convo was actually about,
and got a good, honest chuckle.

Ok, I've got a good one, or a bad one depending on how you look at it.
