Hi,
I don't know if this question has been answered, but is the fictional
town of Springfield in Kentucky. On the map I notice a town called
Simpsonville and Shelbyville is just east of Simpsonville. These towns
are located between Louisville and Frankfort. So is Springfield
Simpsonville?

No, it's Libertyville. Where everything costs $17.76.

Well, we don't have a Libertyville, but we do have 4 'Liberty's:
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searchtype=address& country=US&addtohistory=&searchtab=home&address= &city=liberty&state=KY&zipcode=
Libertyville's across the country:
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searchtype=address& country=US&addtohistory=&searchtab=home&address= &city=libertyville&state=&zipcode=
Of course, we all know the "Simpons" are actually characters PLAYED BY
cartoon actors of the same name(s). Those actors are from northern Kentucky.

You would think that if they all were in Kentucky, that they would have
Kentucky accents, right?
Many of the people sound like they are from the New York City area...

For the 10 trillionth time, Springfield has never conclusively set in
any state.

Except when they're from southern Missouri.

Except Michigan, as shown by the "endless zoom out" intro.

To perpetuate the gag, you are supposed to say: "Wasn't Smithers gay
in one episode?".

Well, we don't have a Libertyville, but we do have 4 'Liberty's:
What are you making fun of here? I am trying to remember it. In some
movie, or Three Stooges skit, there is a line "Well, we don't have
<blah blah>, but we do have <some other blah blah>. I was thinking of
the "I'm not insane, but I'll be quirky" line from OFF. I was also
thinking of the scene in the old TV show Chips, where the comedian is
on stage and says: "We don't have any black washing machines, but we
do have some black agitators". But, it was somewhere else too. But
where? WHERE?
