Has anyone else watched all of James Brolin`s screen-test`s on the Ultimate
release of OP?
Thank god Roger came back at the 11th hour.
P.S just for reference Roger is my Favourite Bond but Timothy Dalton IMO was
the best and closest Bond in LTK.

I was able to view segments of his test at the CREATION convention some
years ago and could never see what the Bond people liked about him. My
vote would have been for Lewis Collins at that time. Not sure if he
ever actually tested.

I seem to recall some story from Collins himself that he was talked to
briefly at one point but somehow managed to piss Cubby off, and that
was that. Details, anyone?
Best
Phil

The Collins timeline is rather confused. According to the producer of
WHO DARES WINS, it was that film which brought him to attention of the
Broccoli's. However, and Terry can confirm I've got this right, Collins
spoke to the tabloids about his arrogance pissing Cubby off (the story
you're referring to, Phil) *before* WHO DARES WINS.
I believe around 1980, right Terry?
As for a screen-test, I have been told he tested, and that the test
involved scenes from ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE, but I was
unable to get confirmation from those who know.

That's correct Mac. In what appears to be a more accurate 1982 tabloid
article, Collins was quoted as saying the "negative" interview with
Cubby took place two years before said artictle, placing it in 1980.
Best we can determine, Collins was approached at least two times about
the Bond role.
