Stupid Question From NOOB [message #296551] Mo, 10 Juli 2006 09:54
Shhhh
Hello all,

Just out of curiosity, my wife and I love the starwars series... what are
the chances George Lucas is going to continue the saga from where ROTJ lets
off?

Please don't flame, just a fan with a serious question.

Thank you all,
Shhhh

Are you serious? Well, there are a bunch of books that take place after
ROTJ. And a bunch of comics. As for GL doing any more films, there was
talk once upon a time of him doing a trilogy of what happened after
ROTJ. He planned to do them after he did the prequel films, but now he
isn't sure if he'll do them or not. I don't keep up on the news that
much. There are many websites dedicated to following Lucas's every move
in regards to all things star wars. I'm sure you will find a lot more
news there. Or someone will answer you on this site.

No chance of further movies.....he's already said the buck stops with ROTJ
as far as the movies are concerned.

But...there are TV projects in production......keep your eyes open for
these.

Yep. Absolutely no more movies in this Saga.

Way back in the mists of time it was planned to be a "Trilogy of
trilogies", but that idea was thrown out when big changes were made to
the original vague storyline during the making of ESB and RotJ. (Leia
wasn't going to be Luke's sister, and the third trilogy basically
revolved around Luke finding his sister and defeating the Emperor.)

Yep, again.

There's two TV shows in the works. One computer graphics animated
series set during the Clone Wars and one live-action series with at
least 100 episodes set during the years between the two trilogies (this
will NOT be about the main movie characters, but is about a lesser
movie character, possibly Boba Fett).

If these are successful then there is very likely to be more TV shows
and possibly spin-off movies (spin-off from the TV shows or standalone
movies like the Ewoks ones).

The Saga is over, but Star Wars is a long way from over yet.

There won't be any movies, but there is a solid plot line for Lucas to
follow if he did. The midichlorians could be unhappy with having Yoda,
Qui-Gon, Anakin and Obi-Wan hanging around in their force. So they
drive Luke mad, kill him and have him hunt down the Jedi Ghosts. Luke:
"I can't get these midichlorians out of my head, I have to help them"
