Paul Green School of Rock Ramps Up National Expansion with New
Management Team
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) May 30, 2006 -- The Paul Green School of
Rock Music, the original performance-based rock music school, has
solidified its new management team and launched an aggressive
national expansion that is on target to double the number of
branches by the end of the year.
With Matt Ross, newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the
Paul Green School of Rock Music, LLC, leading the team, the
School of Rock is currently celebrating the grand opening of its
Hollywood branch, to be followed by expansions into a half dozen
major markets, and opening twice as many schools this year. With
the School of Rock now firmly rooted in the music industry’s top
two markets on the East (New York) and West Coast, Ross has set
an agenda of fall 2006 openings in Chicago, Washington, Boston
and Portland, with an additional 8-10 suburban franchises across
the country expected to be ready by year’s end. This summer, the
School of Rock All-Stars, comprised of the best students from
across the nation, will celebrate the aggressive large-scale
development plan with their most extensive tour. The 27-city U.S.
tour will kick off July 28 at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood.
"This is the opportunity of a lifetime,” says Ross. “To combine
my love for building businesses, with my passion for music and my
commitment to developing children, I feel like I have found the
‘needle in the haystack’ opportunity. Paul and his company are
onto something special.”
Ross has held executive positions with Clear Channel
Communications, Emmis Broadcasting, and CBS Radio, and has been
widely recognized as one of the most accomplished leaders in the
media business. In fact, Ross was responsible for leading some of
the most significant radio industry turnarounds in the country,
including New York's Classic Rock Station Q104.
Ross holds an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University and is a
Cum Laude graduate of the State University of New York at Albany.
He also is President and Founder of The Kids Foundation, a 501C3
organization which to date has raised over $2 million for
organizations that work with children with autism and other
developmental Disabilities.
“With Matt Ross on board, we suddenly feel like a real business,”
says Paul Green. “And that allows me to concentrate on teaching
kids to rock.”
Also joining the management team are Dr. Joseph Roberts, Chairman
of the Board, and Lisa Roy, Vice President. Paul Green's original
partner in the development of expansion outside of Philadelphia,
Dr. Roberts has been instrumental in developing the Paul Green
School of Rock Music into a national presence. Not only does he
play an active role in the growth and development of the School
of Rock, he maintains a prestigious cosmetic dental practice in
Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia. Roy joins the Paul Green
School of Rock to spearhead business and artist development.
Based in Los Angeles, she previously has consulted for the
Grammy® telecast and was Talent Producer for Music Player
Network, Producer for Guitar Player Magazine’s Guitar Hero
Concert and Contributing Editor for EQ and Pro Sound News.
And finally, there’s Paul Green. In, 1998, the University of
Pennsylvania graduate in philosophy founded the PAUL GREEN SCHOOL
OF ROCK MUSIC. Green single-handedly grew the School of Rock’s
reputation immensely over the next half decade, not only drawing
significant media attention from both sides of the Atlantic
Ocean, but also seeing his creation become the apparent
inspiration for the Jack Black full-length hit comedy, School of
Rock, as well as the subject of the acclaimed A&E documentary
film, ROCK SCHOOL. To date, Green’s students have played over
1500 concerts to more than 500,000 people at legendary venues
around the world. The primary goal is to foster a new generation
of incredible musicians by exposing the students to classic rock
amid a stimulating, interactive school environment.
