Sorry guys, haven't been able to participate much. I've been down with
*something* in my abdomen that's had me pretty much flattened since April
24. Doctor's looking at a possible peptic ulcer, some strange liver
problem, or perhaps the gall bladder. Idunno what it is - I just know that
sitting down (ie., getting online) is the most painful position to be in
right now. Add to this I can't seem to eat enough food to get above a
starvation level calorie count, and I simply don't have enough energy to do
much these days. And this is an improvement, some 24 days after I collapsed
(at work no less). I'll try to keep up with what's happening here, and say
something now and again. Meanwhile, some well-wishing and prayers would be
appreciated - I'm going in for a diagnostic procedure June 5 that requires
general anasthetic which (for me) is life-threatening. So let's hope I make
it through ok!
Meanwhile, the KY/Midwest Gather is still on!
Just a Monkey,
Scott,

Yowch. My sister had some unidentified stomach ailment that sent her to
the ER, because she couldn't eat or drink, but that pales in comparison
to what you've got. Get well soon, I'll be keeping you in my prayers.

Sounds like a plan. Here's to your finding out what needs to be fixed
without creating any other problems in the process!

Thanks - to you as well as everybody else. It's wonderful to have so much
friendship and support in uncertain times.
Now the good news. I have been steadily improving. I have learned what I
can eat without pain and what to avoid, and very little actual physical
activity causes suffering any more.
The bad news though, is it's still there, and still gives me grief. Right
now the top three suspects are peptic ulcer, gall bladder, and polyps.
Given my reactions to grease and not to more acidic foods, I'm inclined to
go with the gall bladder - but we'll just have to wait and see for now.

I have gallstones and an ulcer. Sucks, I tell you. Get pepto
bismal and take a swallow at the first sign of heartburn and when
eating anything remotely scary. It'll help relieve the problem
without masking it. Also, water. Lots and lots of water. That can
help relive the gall bladder issues without surgery or medication
if they are not TOO bad.

Heh - the Doctor and I are already ahead of you there. He has me on Aciphex
for the acid/heartburn issue, and I have a chronic kidney condition so I'm
already drinking more water than most fish. It just looks like my body has
finally reached that acute stage and said "no more."

My low attendance:
I broke my computer!
According to Dell, my hard drive's failing and this is the first time in...4
