| Rescuing the Anti-Kirk [message #204187] |

It now seems almost certain that Star Trek will never again reunite
original series cast members in a "Kirk rescue" scenario. Even though
Spock should probably have spent decades in such an attempt, however
vain.
Even so, the hope remains. As one solution, why not have them
inadvertently beam out the anti-Kirk from the Mirror, Mirror dimension?
That might make for an interesting storyline, and if they all then get
involved in the romulan underground (where at least the vulcan is
revealed, in a later episode of a different series) it may explain why
"jim" is believed to be dead in future history.
In generations, he is believed to have died in the nexus -- despite the
obvious and well known fact that it doesn't actually kill anyone to go
in there, and anyone can step out at will. So maybe they can't rescue
him in his own time, there may still be the possibility for a
transporter to pluck out the anti-kirk instead, thus providing fodder
for a new film featuring old cast members.
