You are kidding right? It's absolutely abysmal. It's exactly those kind of
people that put the geek in trek. I defiantly rather stick with Starship
Exeter or New Voyages.

.....and to quote McCoy, "In a pig's eye!" Say what ya want about the acting,
I think it's about the same but New Frontiers suffers from *extremely* poor
casting.(some teenager playing a "captain" while obviously older persons are
cast in supporting roles) It constantly looks like a TNG Trekkies worst (or
best) wet dream, too much happing all at one (with the FX) and tecnobabble
to spare.
The other two have far superior production values, as they actually *have*
sets. Lets not forget New Voyages has Eugene Roddenberry Jr. as a consulting
producer, a CGI Artist "Max Rem" who actually works for Paramount, as well
as cameos from other various TOS actors such as Eddie Paskey (Mr Leslie)
William Windom (Matt Decker) *and* a member of the original cast in the 3rd
episode (Walter Koenig) written by TOS Trek alumni Dorothy Fontana.

"This brings up an important philosophical question: if a fan film stars an
original cast member from Star Trek and is written by a writer who worked on
the original series and has state-of-the-art special effects, how is it
different from the real Star Trek?"
......Koenig says he is willing to risk looking desperate for one last chance
to inhabit the role that made him semi-famous. And what if people laugh?
"Screw it if they feel that way."

Atta boy Walter!

"Hidden" is all the worst of Talk Trek. Commodore Porker and a few fan
boys writing stories that are just plain crap.

Oh and how about Captain Squinty? Or known aliens with anatomical
anomolies, such as the Andorian.

Love the bloopers. Note: The whole fucking show is a blooper. Bloopers
are funny if you have quality actors and they muff it. But, to have
shit for talent and they muff it, bloopers just show the truth to the
'vanity project'.

No writers, production, or actors in hollywood to bollywood are in
danger of losing a job to any of these people.

Try the second episode (especially part 1) of Exeter. The acting shown on
screen has improved dramatically, I really enjoyed watching the teaser and
part 1. When Cutty shrugs to the captain after 'or forced to' is incredibly
casually, - and therefore, realistically - delivered. Same when the captain
ponders the ship's fate, at the end of part 1, should #1 screw up. Very
real delivery, I thought.

And, of course, Exeter ep II's TOS recreation of the sets are pretty much
drool city. An engineering section! A real conference room! And the final
shot of the teaser is great.

I wasn't impressed with ep I but ep II has been very, very enjoyable so far,
with lots of TOS re-enactment eye candy (and unlike B&B's TOS recreations, a
(so far) solid plot line to back up the reason we're seeing it in the first
place)

The reason I have never been to a Star Trek convention, and will never go to
one. Not so much that I have anything against Star Trek fans who take
things a little too seriously, I just don't like them. I like trains, but I
don't dress up like a train conductor and walk around .... in public. :-)
