The Hollywood Reporter reported this week that Michael Piller, who was head
writer on STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION and who was co-creator/executive
producer of THE DEAD ZONE, had died of cancer at age 57.
Piller also co-created DEEP SPACE NINE and VOYAGER. Piller was also a staff
writer and producer on such shows as MIAMI VICE, SIMON & SIMON, HARD TIME ON
PLANET EARTH and CAGNEY & LACEY.
In addition, he wrote and co-produced the feature film STAR TREK:
INSURRECTION.
He was from Portchester, New York and was born in May 1948.
