Hi fellow Trekkies!

I'm in my TOS nostalgia mood and I've been going through old Trek stuff
for days. One of the books I re-read this weekend for the hundredth
time was Star Trek lives. A must read for any true Trekker.

I love books about Fandom. There're always good stories about actor -
fan interaction. One of the stories I love the most is featured in Star
Trek lives. It's what I call the sandwich story. Although it's the soft
version.

I've been told the hardcore version by the lovely gentleman who took
the picture belonging to this story.
Mr. and Mrs. Northamerica and all the ships at sea, tonight we're going
to present: The sandwich story
Starring William Shatner, James Doohan and the marvelous Joan Winston.
LOL

it all begins with a harmless photo on a normal day on the set of Star
Trek, late 1968. The cast is shooting the last episode of the original
series. Joan Winston is a visitor to the set.

Joan is chatting it up with Bill Shatner and Doohan. De offeres to take
a photo. How thoughtful of you De, you were always such a lovely
gentleman. *sigh*

Anyhu, De takes the camera and suggests, "Why dontcha sandwich her,
boys."

Ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh that's any female Trekkie's wildest dream come
true. To get sandwiched between Captain Kirk and Mr. Scott. ;) :D
Whooeeeeee!

Doohan as always has never to be told twice and takes on Joan's lovely
backside. Does that say anything about Mr. Scott's sexual preferences?
I'm never gonna tell. LOL Well that leaves Shatner with the even more
lovely frontside. But Bill, kinda gets it wrong the first time round
and ends up standing with his back to Joan.

Before DeForest takes the photo Bill quips, "Wait! There's something
wrong with this sandwich." That was about time Captain! You had me
worried there, sugar. On the other hand it's always been One-take
Doohan and not One-take Shatner, right? :D

Then Bill spins around ending up literally nose-to-nose with Joanie.
The photo is awesome. I'd love to post it. Sigh, I've been looking all
over the place for that one. Turned the house upside-down, really.

Well, the photo, imagine this: Bill is grinning wolvishly into Joanie's
face, who is smiling surprised at him. And Jimmy's kinda gazing
absentlyminded into the camera with glazed eyes.

LOL Ladies and Gentlemen that was the infamous sandwich story! Live
long and prosper, Bill! Go Joanie! And god bless our Jimmy.
