I assume that the reason for there being no news about a new Trek movie is
because it's a dead issue. Until Paramount gets religion and removes Berman
and Co. from the picture, don't hold your breath. It could be a while.

Like any other film, it would all be in the telling. If TPTB handle
the "bridge" film the same way they handled the ENT series, I agree
with your assessment. If they put the 75% or so of ENT that was
sub-par tripe and work on writing a good story then the story's
setting has potential.
