According to IMDB, William Shatner DOB 22 Mar 1931.
To find this, I just plugged Shatner into the IMDB search box and it cam
back with six other possibilities, Marcy, Melanie, Lizabeth, Nerine
Shatner, all associated with Star Trek plus two other Shatners, Marious
and Ariel.

OK, now subtract 15 years. Per the TOS ep "Shore Leave", Kirk was 15
years younger (at least) in his academy days.

Stupid rumours. Brosnan was up for the role, but had TV commitments
when Roger Moore quit. There was no contest when Dalton left. From
day one it was always going to be Brosnan, but those gossip columns
can't help but invent stuff... just look at the big names they came up
with this time... all wrong.
